The Association of Filipino Teachers in Eastern America ( AFTEA, Inc.), is a 501 (c) (3) organization under the IRS. It is an organization of Filipino and Filipino-descent teachers and educators teaching in the public and private schools in America. The group was organized on December 22, 2006 for the purpose of building a strong professional support among Filipino teachers and educators, strengthen teacher relationships and their families,  address the financial needs of its members through voluntary contributions, and to foster and preserve Filipino cultural values.
